Biaggio Signorelli Foundation

Biaggio Signorelli Foundation

The late Biaggio Signorelli, founder of the Doltone House Group, was an extraordinary man - an Italian migrant of the mid 1950's who accomplished so much in a foreign land. His world changed when he was diagnosed with Mesothelioma in October 2007, and died eight months later.

The beginning of his family's determination to fulfill Biaggio's dying wish was with the commencement of a foundation devoted to finding early detection, treatment, care and ultimately a cure for Mesothelioma (Asbestos Cancer). Every year a gala dinner with entertainment is held at Doltone House to help raise much needed funds.

More recent contributions made by the Biaggio Signorelli Foundation have been a $125,000 donation to ADRI (Asbestos Diseases Research Institute) to fund the National Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Mesothelioma, along with the recent $100,000 appointment of Dr Anthony Linton via the Biaggio Signorelli Fellowship to complete his PhD. Dr Anthony Linton will be conducting research into malignant mesothelioma at ADRI.

Oz Harvest

Doltone House donates excess food and unexpected left-overs from events to Ozharvest. OzHarvest is a non-denominational charity that rescues excess food which would otherwise be discarded. This excess food is distributed to charities supporting the vulnerable in Sydney, Canberra, Newcastle and Adelaide.
