Full of Magic: Loretta and Elias’ Blissful Wedding

It was a moment that both Loretta and Elias will never forget, with their wedding being everything they could hope for and more. In August, the couple said their ‘I Do’s’ and celebrated this joyous occasion with loved ones at Doltone House Sylvania Waters.

Loretta met her sweetheart during high school and they began dating whilst in Year 12. Just three and a half years later, Loretta was surprised on her 21st  birthday with a perfect, well organised and heart warming proposal that had her in awe.

Their ceremony took place at St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church in Punchbowl. When Loretta entered the church and their eyes met, it was at that moment which will last a lifetime as they knew that in a couple of minutes they would leave as husband and wife.

Wanting a venue that was elegant with a fairy tale feel, the moment they walked into the Sylvania Waters venue they knew it was what they were looking for. Having attended events at Doltone House in the past, they were impressed with the quality of catering, which they believed was an “important impact to have at a wedding”.

Newlyweds Loretta and Elias turned to Bling Events to help bring their dream wedding to life. With the magical theme in mind, they wanted to ensure that their guests felt as though they were walking on clouds.

Bling Events made this happen with white floral bouquets that wrapped around the ceiling dome flowing through to the bridal and guest tables, complemented by softly lit candles. The guest tables featured tall standing centrepieces with white orchards and mini hanging chandeliers for an enchanting celebration.

Loretta’s advice to future couples is to enjoy the wedding planning process and never take it for granted and even though things can go wrong, always remain happy “because it really is the best day of your life”.

A Dazzling Wedding for Daniella and Frank

It all started in June 2015 for Daniella and Frank, where a night out with Daniella’s cousin and his workmates, one of whom happened to be Frank, turned into something more for the couple.

Their first real date was a beautiful dinner at a restaurant in Surry Hills. After two years on her birthday Frank invited Daniella out to that same restaurant and proposed- it was a special moment like no other.

On June 23rd, the ceremony of Daniella and Frank took place at Our Lady of Mt Carmel at Mt Pritchard, a moment that the couple will never forget. As Daniella entered the room in her George Elsissa gown and began to walk down the church aisle, the couple locked eyes. At that moment they knew everything would be okay.

Daniella and Frank celebrated their new married status at our Doltone House Hyde Park venue. Choosing this venue for their wedding was an obvious choice as the couple’s family had held previous events at Doltone House, with each leaving lasting memories.

The couple knew they were in capable hands when they enlisted the help of John Emmanuel Floral Design and Bagala Bros (Daniella’s family business). Though the couple had set no specific theme for the occasion, elegance was on the cards. Luxurious Doltone House Hyde Park transformed into an opulent wedding reception fit for royalty.

The selection of white orchards and soft antique-like roses were designed and lavishly placed around the venue. To add to the night, elegant crystal chandeliers hung from the room creating an effervescent glow across the room.

If the newlyweds could share one piece of wisdom to engaged couples planning their wedding, it would be to always stay calm and listen to the advice of the experts.

They are excited to share the new life together and are looking forward to beginning their next chapter in life as a married couple, creating many memories and starting a family together.

With so much inspiration out there, planning a Spring wedding can have you feeling like you don’t know where to begin. From choosing the colour palette, centrepieces and all the décor to complement your wedding theme, ensuring consistency and prettiness can be hard to get right.

Our in house styling team, House of Doltone, put together the dream wedding by incorporating all the current Spring elements and bringing them to life through florals, décor and draping. Spring weddings are all about bright, full of life and elegant décor for a timeless and romantic wedding reception. Taking inspiration from our recently styled Sylvania Waters venue In Full Bloom Wedding Open House, our House of Doltone styling team shares their 4 top tips to styling your dream Spring wedding.

We are crazy in love with light up neon signs and this season, incorporating customised neon lights that express who you are as a couple is a fun and unique way to creating a stylish Spring wedding that will have your guests in awe. We recommend having a cute quote or saying that expresses how you feel about each other for a more personal touch.

It’s also totally Instagram worthy!

Spring is the season for flowers to bloom so we suggest choosing florals that are not only in season, but also provide fullness and add some brightness to the space. Opting for flowers such as soft orchards contrasted against bold roses, peonies and hydrangeas enhances the sweet romantic ambience of the night.

For the ultimate Spring wedding event, keep your Spring theme looking bright and fresh with soft pastel colours. We recommend introducing this theme throughout your tableware, centrepieces and seating chart to enhance the full effect.

HINT: You don’t have to use just one or two colours, play with a variety of colours including yellows, pinks, lavender and whites. This will really make your wedding pop and will have your guests feeling in awe of the fresh tones.

This Spring season less is more, especially when it comes to centrepieces. Alternate your guest tables with two different floral centrepieces that are smaller and serene, this will make it easier for guests to engage in conversation.

We recommend adding a small collection of single stemmed flowers or roses in a cluster in the middle of the table for a more contemporary feel. Alternatively, for a more traditional table setting you can also opt for a slightly higher floral centrepiece with a bouquet of flowers.

What To Wear On Race Day: Melbourne Cup 2018

The highly anticipated Melbourne Cup 2018 event is just around the corner and with so many fashion styles to choose from, we have scoured the Internet and have gathered all the current 2018 trends so that you can look your best for this season’s hottest spring racing event!

Coco Chanel couldn’t have put it better: “Fashions Fade, but style is eternal”. This season is all about keeping it simple with your choice of attire. We suggest you opt for designs that offer a fresh and tailored look to your spring racing wardrobe. Whether you decide to go for a short or long dress, be sure to opt for a design that has an elegant cut.

Remember it’s spring; so don’t be afraid to add a little pop of colour to your race day attire. Soft floral prints or bright pops of colour throughout your outfit is just what you need to make that perfect race day statement for the spring season. Alternatively, choosing a bright lipstick colour such as a red or pink is another great way to incorporate the spring look.

You don’t want to overdo it with your look, this is an all day event and you are going to be taking a lot of photos. A neutral palette around the eyes and cheeks and a statement lip is that subtle look your outfit needs. Remember to always match your make up to your outfit to complete your look.

Your look isn’t complete without a fabulous headpiece that complements your outfit. Given that it is spring, keep it light; after all you will be wearing it all day. We suggest a low and simple crown-like headpiece will tie your spring look together perfectly.

5. Classic up-dos. Consider how your hair will sit with your headpiece or hat. Typically, it’s much easier to wear something that makes a statement when your hair is tied back. If you prefer wearing your hair out, pinning the front pieces back can have the same impact.

Once you have pieced together your outfit, from your clothes, to your shoes and even headpiece, your choice in jewellery should coordinate perfectly as a whole. Our favourite statement is less is more. Rather than stacking all your bracelets and rings, choose a statement piece for the perfect final touch.
