4 Cool Event Lighting Trends For Corporate Events

Event lighting goes far beyond merely illuminating your venue. It’s arguably one of the easiest ways to add excitement to your event and ensure it’s a memorable one. Lighting can be used to define an events style, vibe, theme, emotion and atmosphere. It can also be used to illuminate the architectural elements of a venue or styling pieces to create an awe inspiring visual experience, which is surprisingly affordable. We spoke to our lighting and AV experts at Microhire to find out what’s currently trending in lighting for corporate events right now.

1. Stage Wash

Ideal for events that include entertainment, presentations and speeches, Stage Wash is a great way to focus an audience’s attention on the stage. It uses even light and colour spread even colour across the stage to make it stand out. To get a full coverage, lights should overlap at the edges to ensure there are no dark spots.

2. Spotlighting

Spotlighting is used to direct attention to certain elements of your event, or unique architectural structures. A dramatic effect that can be used to transform centerpieces, highlight décor and transform table settings into impressive pieces of art. A great addition to gala dinners, weddings and social parties.

3. Gobos

A gobo is a beam of light that shines through a metal stencil to create a particular pattern. They’re a great way to add branding to an event (projecting your logo onto any surface), or to enhance a theme (like snowflakes for a winter wonderland party). You can project gobos onto walls, floors, ceilings and backdrops and you can choose to keep the stationery or add an element of movement!

4. Moving Lighting

Moving lights bring animation to events, providing an added level of excitement, colour and texture. Combining Gobo lights with spotlights that are constantly moving and flashing can create a light show that is truly memorable. For award ceremonies or gala events, programmed lighting changes in the countdown to announcements are a great way to add excitement and anticipation and highlight tables where winners are sitting.
