Event in Focus: Diabetes NSW Gala Dinner

The Diabetes NSW & ACT Cirque Gala took place earlier this year at our Jones Bay Wharf venue on Sydney Harbour, with 450 guests in attendance including new and long-standing corporate partners and supporters. More than $200,000 was raised for the Diabetes Kids Fun on the night, which will be put towards the ongoing support of children, teens and young adults living with type 1 diabetes, their families and carers.

Following a vintage circus theme, guests were greeted with a feast for the senses, with suspended aerialists pouring guests champagne, tarot readers, magicians and an impressive aerial circus performance and fire show. Adding to the exciting line up of entertainment, ‘Side Show Alley’ was set up on the outdoor harbour view deck sporting famous carnival games for guests to enjoy including laughing clowns, ring toss and high striker.

Guests enjoyed a beautiful three-course dinner menu, which included our famous braised beef cheek and mango and coconut savarin. The goal was to create an interactive event experience that went beyond the expectations of a traditional fundraising gala. Bringing the concept to life was custom lighting from Microhire and theming and props provided by House of Doltone and the Sydney Prop Specialists and entertainment from Planet Entertainment. Here’s a taste of what was an amazing fundraising event!
