5 Simple Styling Ideas For Corporate Events

From the moment your first guest arrives at your function venue, your corporate event is a representation of your brand. Whatever your goals, you want to create positive memories for your guests and venue styling is a simple way to achieve this. Whilst the location, interiors and catering of your venue are all factors that will influence the guest experience, adding styling to the mix will create that extra impact you are looking for. So how do you pack a punch without breaking the bank? Our in-house stylists, House of Doltone, share five simple tips to help you plan a memorable corporate event.

1. Be creative with your floor plan

When designing your floor plan, try and think out of the box! A little creativity like positioning tables around a centred stage, or creating dedicated lounge areas for guests to mix and mingle can change the whole atmosphere. Break out areas give guests the opportunity to network with new people outside of the formal event program.

2. Change up the seating

Just because you’re hosting a corporate event, it doesn’t mean you always need to be traditional with the seating you provide. Beanbags, stability balls, cushioned cubes, palate furniture or even beach chairs can create a more casual vibe. Just keep in mind how long your guests will remain seated, and ensure they will feel comfortable for the duration of the event.

3. Use a colour theme

Colour themes are the easiest way to add impact to corporate events. Flowers, balloons and table linen are easy ways to add colour to your event without breaking the bank. For flowers, choose varieties that are in season and keep arrangements small to keep costs to a minimum. If your budget allows, lighting will bring your colour theme to life and transform your event space into something spectacular.

4. Add food Stations

Styled food stations create a point of interest for events. In recent times, food stations have become just as much about the presentation as the food itself. The trick is to add varying heights, textures and props to your display. As well as providing a visual spectacle for events, food stations add a fun and interactive element to corporate events.

5. Use Centrepieces

There are literally no rules to what can make up your table centrepieces. Flowers and candelabras are the most obvious option, but there are many other cost-effective ideas that you can use to make an impact. It can be as simple as painting some foliage gold or adding an oversized prop. We’re really into floating florals, where you fill clear vases almost right to the top and let your flowers float at the top.
