It was through mutual friends that Ruth and Daniel met, but it wasn’t until 2013 that they found a connection, in which they became inseparable. Three years after meeting, the couple flew to Fiji, where Daniel planned a surprise dinner on the beach right before proposing.
Designed by Steven Khalil, Ruth went for a classic yet stylish wedding gown. The dress featured a pink undertone with an embellished detail from top to bottom which looked terrific on our bride!
Located in the heart of the Sydney CBD, Doltone House Hyde Park became the ideal space for Ruth and Daniel to celebrate their newly married life with friends and family. Having chosen the venue for being well known for food and service, the style and design of the space created the right ambience for the wedding they wanted.
Enlisting the help of stylist Magic Moments by Ruth, the couple opted for a romantic and elegant theme; the use of lighting was also important in creating a warm ambient feel. The white, gold and black colour scheme tied in perfectly with the design of our Hyde Park venue.
The Manhattan was styled elegantly with white plinths that carried large bouquets of white roses and baby’s breaths and created the perfect setting for pre-dinner drinks.
The Ballroom featured an opulent design of drop chandeliers over the bridal table as well as cascading florals, refined centrepieces of babies breath, and tea lights.
Food is an essential aspect of the couple’s life, so they opted for Doltone House Catering. Indulging in a 3-course premium dinner on the night, starting with Orecchiette with prawns and cherry tomatoes and ending the night with the irresistible pistachio and Raspberry slice.
Though it was hard for the couple to pinpoint their most memorable time of the day, as there were so many! For Ruth, there were three.
Firstly, it was walking down the aisle to meet her husband and their first kiss in the church.
Secondly, walking into the venue and seeing their vision come to life.
Finally, their first dance a special moment that had them feeling as though they were the only ones in the room.
Ruth and Daniel have shared their tips on the engagement; the planning process and their wedding day for future couples.
On the engagement and the planning? Don’t rush into anything and to start by being organised as it makes for a smoother process.
For couples on their wedding day, Ruth and Daniel encourage future couples to enjoy their day as it a celebration of “love” and “coming together as one”.
